Physiotherapy Services in Doune
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Doune premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Doune is a small village on the River Teith, north-west of Stirling. It was once famous for making pistols, carried by Highland soldiers in the eighteenth century.
Doune Castle, a medieval courtyard castle, has appeared in films and television series including Monty Python and Outlander. The path around its walls is uneven but makes a good later goal.
Main Street and the Mercat Cross form a compact centre with shops and cafes. The streets are mostly level, ideal for early walks.
The riverside path to Deanston follows the Teith past the old cotton mill, now a whisky distillery. It is flat in places and a pleasant longer route.
NHS Forth Valley serves the area. Surgery usually takes place at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, and we continue rehab at home.
Homes include old stone cottages, terraces and newer houses. We assess stairs, steps and outdoor access during the first visit.
Doune Ponds, a small nature reserve, has level paths and hides for birdwatching.
Kilmadock parish church and the old Mercat Cross anchor the village, while the Woodside Hotel and local pubs host clubs and quiz nights. Deanston Distillery runs tours and a cafe inside its former weaving sheds, with level floors suited to frames. Bus links to Callander and Stirling run along the A84, and practising the stop beside the Moray Institute builds independence. Farm workers in Argaty and Buchany sometimes aim to drive tractors or walk livestock fields again, which calls for hip control and steady footing on rutted ground.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.
