Physiotherapy Services in Dover
Home Physio And Rehab is based in Harrow, north-west London, and has no clinic or office in Dover. Every appointment is a home visit, and the physiotherapist who visits you may be based elsewhere and travel to your home. Whether we can see you depends on your postcode and on therapist availability at the time you ask.
Dover is a port town in east Kent, set in the valley of the River Dour between the famous white cliffs. Dover Castle stands high above the town on the eastern cliffs, and the Western Heights fortifications rise on the other side. The seafront and the town centre around Market Square are fairly level, but most residential areas climb steeply up the valley sides.
Homes include Victorian terraces in Tower Hamlets, Maxton and Buckland, many with steep stairs and front steps, post-war estates at Aycliffe and Elms Vale, and larger houses in River and Temple Ewell. Whitfield, on the plateau above, has significant new housing. We focus on stairs, slopes and safe movement in your actual home.
The seafront promenade is flat and has benches, and Pencester Gardens provides a level green space near the shops. Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens at River have gentle paths by the Dour. Dover Priory station has trains to London. Typical goals include walking into town, managing the train or reaching the seafront again.
Buckland Hospital in Dover provides some local services, while most acute care is in Ashford and Canterbury. We are independent of the NHS, so please share your discharge summary and any precautions. We then design a home programme around your recovery and the walks you want back.
Dover is famous for its white cliffs and its castle, which overlooks the busy ferry port. The seafront promenade is level, but the centre sits in a narrow valley, and roads such as Castle Hill and Folkestone Road rise steeply. Many homes are terraced houses on these slopes. We help people manage hills, steps and kerbs so they can reach the shops and seafront again.
