Physiotherapy Services in Enniskillen
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Enniskillen premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Enniskillen is the county town of Fermanagh, built on an island between Upper and Lower Lough Erne. Enniskillen Castle, with its distinctive Watergate, guards the river, and the town centre runs along a single main street that changes its name several times. Water surrounds the town, and bridges link it with the neighbourhoods on either bank.
The main street climbs and falls gently across the island, and some side streets are steep. Housing includes Georgian and Victorian terraces near the centre, post-war estates such as Cornagrade and Hillview, and many newer developments and bungalows on the edges. We plan around your home and the route you use to reach the shops.
The lakeside paths by the castle and the Broadmeadow, and Forthill Park, with the Cole Monument on its hilltop, are popular walking goals. Castle Coole, the National Trust estate on the edge of town, has long, level paths through parkland. Enniskillen has no railway station, so buses to Belfast and Omagh are the main links.
The Western Health and Social Care Trust's South West Acute Hospital stands on the edge of the town and provides most hospital care for Fermanagh. Community rehabilitation is arranged through the same trust. We visit independently and are happy to continue the exercises you were given before going home.
The Buttermarket, a restored nineteenth-century market courtyard, is now a cluster of craft shops and a café, and it makes a sheltered short outing. Boats and cruisers moor along the lough shore in summer, and the Ardhowen Theatre sits beside Upper Lough Erne. Rain and floodwater can make the lakeside paths soft, so we keep firmer pavement routes in reserve for wetter weeks.
