Physiotherapy Services in Epping
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Epping premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Epping is a historic market town on a ridge in the Epping Forest district of Essex. Its broad High Street has hosted a Monday market since the thirteenth century, and coaching inns, shops and cafés line both sides of the road.
The town sits at the northern edge of Epping Forest, an ancient woodland of beech and hornbeam that once served as a royal hunting ground. The forest is now protected and has many paths, though some are muddy, rooty and hilly.
Epping is the last stop on the Central line, so the station is busy with commuters into London. Managing the walk to the station, the stairs and the platform is a common goal for people returning to work or travel after surgery.
Housing ranges from Georgian and Victorian buildings on the High Street to large family homes and newer estates on the slopes. Stairs, steep drives and split-level gardens are common, and we take these into account in our plans.
Epping falls within NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board. Residents are usually treated at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, and after discharge we can continue rehabilitation privately at home.
The water tower on Lindsey Street and St John's church are local landmarks, and the High Street is fairly level, which helps people building up their walking. A café on the High Street is often an early goal.
Theydon Bois has a village green and its own Central line station, while Coopersale and Thornwood sit among fields and woods. In these areas we help people with uneven ground, gates and quiet roads without pavements.
The forest paths are best saved for later in recovery, once balance is steady and people can manage roots, slopes and changing surfaces.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.
