Physiotherapy Services in Harlech
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Harlech premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Harlech sits on a rocky ridge above Tremadog Bay in Gwynedd. Its thirteenth-century castle, built by Edward I, is part of a World Heritage Site and dominates views of the coast and the Llŷn peninsula.
The upper town lies along the High Street, with shops and cafes close to the castle. The street is fairly level, so a short walk from the castle visitor centre to the old chapel is a good early target.
Ffordd Pen Llech, which links the upper town with the coast road, was once listed as the steepest street in the world. Most residents avoid it on foot, but it gives a clear idea of the slopes here.
Below the ridge, Morfa Harlech is a wide area of dunes and beach. The boardwalk from the car park to the sand is a pleasant route for balance practice before tackling softer ground.
Royal St David's Golf Club lies on the flat land beneath the castle. Many golfers we see want to return to a full round, so we plan rotation, walking and stamina work towards that goal.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board provides care in the area. Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor handles most acute admissions, while Ysbyty Alltwen in Tremadog offers community and rehabilitation beds.
Many homes in the upper town are stone cottages built into the hillside, with steep steps from the road and split levels inside. We assess rails, steps and bathroom access during the first visit.
Harlech station sits on the Cambrian Coast line at the foot of the ridge. Getting down to it and back up again is a practical challenge we plan towards for people who want to travel by train.
Llanfair and Llandanwg lie along the coast to the south. Homes there are often on quiet lanes with uneven verges, which we include in outdoor practice to build confidence on mixed surfaces.

Personalised, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic support delivered in the comfort of your home by an HCPC-registered dietitian.

Specialist home-based rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, balance and independence for people living with neurological conditions.

Helping older adults maintain mobility, strength and independence safely at home.
