Physiotherapy Services in Hornsea
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Hornsea premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Hornsea is a seaside town on the Holderness coast of the East Riding, with a long promenade, a sandy beach and a strong community of retired residents. Many people moved here for a quieter life by the sea, and staying independent in their own home matters to them.
Hornsea Mere, the largest natural freshwater lake in Yorkshire, lies on the western side of town. Its edge is home to herons, swans and rowing boats, and a slow walk to the café by the water is a goal many of our clients set.
The main shops are along Newbegin and Market Place, with more on the way down to the seafront. Hornsea Museum, in an old farmhouse on Newbegin, tells the story of village life and of the famous Hornsea Pottery.
For hospital care, people here are usually seen at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham or Hull Royal Infirmary, and some go to the Alfred Bean in Driffield for clinics. The journey back can be tiring, so seeing a physiotherapist at home saves energy for the exercises themselves.
The Trans Pennine Trail begins at Hornsea and follows the old railway line inland. Its first stretch is flat and firm underfoot, which makes it useful for longer walks once someone is ready.
Wind off the North Sea can make the promenade hard work in winter. We plan outdoor sessions around the weather and choose sheltered routes through the town when needed.
Many homes are bungalows or flats, and steps up to front doors are common. We look at access, rails and the layout inside to keep moving around the house safe.
