Physiotherapy Services in Monmouth
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Monmouth premises to walk into. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Monmouth is a historic market town in south east Wales, close to the English border where the rivers Wye and Monnow meet. It was the birthplace of Henry V in 1386.
Agincourt Square, the heart of town, is overlooked by the Shire Hall and a statue of Charles Rolls, co-founder of Rolls-Royce. Level paving here makes a good starting point for outdoor walks.
The Monnow Bridge, with its rare fortified gatehouse, carries a pedestrian route over the river. The short walk from the town centre to the bridge is a popular early target for patients.
The Kymin, a hill across the Wye, has a roundhouse and a Naval Temple cared for by the National Trust. The climb is steep, so it is a satisfying long-term goal for keen walkers.
Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny and the Grange University Hospital near Cwmbran look after most surgical patients here. Once you are home, we build on the progress made in hospital.
Monnow Street, the main shopping street, slopes gently down towards the river. Older houses along it and nearby streets have steep stairs and narrow doorways that we plan around carefully.
Wyesham lies across the Wye bridge at the foot of the Kymin. The riverside paths there are flat and pleasant, making an excellent route for building stamina.
Overmonnow, across the Monnow bridge, and Osbaston to the north are residential areas with mixed housing. Their quieter streets give safe places to practise walking near home.
Rockfield, Dixton and Mitchel Troy are villages in the countryside around Monmouth. Car travel is usually essential, so practising transfers is an early part of the programme.
