Penryn is an ancient granite town at the head of the Penryn river, just inland from Falmouth in west Cornwall. It received its charter in 1236 and has one of the best-preserved historic centres in the county.
Glasney College, a medieval centre of learning, once stood here, and the Glasney valley nature reserve now covers part of its site. The paths through the valley are mostly level and peaceful.
Penryn's streets climb steeply from the river. Higher and Lower Market Street, lined with Georgian and Victorian buildings, lead up to the town hall with its clock tower.
Penryn falls under NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board, and Treliske, the Royal Cornwall Hospital near Truro, is where most local patients go. Falmouth Hospital nearby runs some therapy services, and our private sessions can continue recovery at home.
The Penryn Museum in the town hall and the Saturday market at Jubilee Wharf are local favourites, while Maritime line trains from Penryn halt reach Truro and Falmouth, passing the Kernow Mill on the way.
The Penryn Campus at Tremough, shared by the universities of Exeter and Falmouth, has brought many students to the town. Housing ranges from granite terraces in the centre to newer estates on the hillsides.
The quayside along the Penryn river and the Commercial Road area are among the flattest places to walk. They are good for early outdoor practice.
Mabe, known for its granite quarries, and Mylor Bridge lie nearby. Steep lanes and uneven paths make safe walking and car transfers important parts of the plan.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Helping people living with persistent or complex pain improve function and quality of life.
