We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Prestonpans premises to walk into. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Prestonpans is a coastal town in East Lothian, on the Firth of Forth east of Musselburgh. Its name comes from the salt pans once worked along its shore by monks.
The town is known for its many outdoor murals, painted on walls and gable ends. A walking trail links them, offering short stretches between each picture.
In 1745 the Battle of Prestonpans saw Bonnie Prince Charlie's Jacobites defeat government troops. A viewpoint above the battlefield overlooks the site.
The John Muir Way runs along the shoreline, giving a flat path with views to Fife. It is an excellent route for building stamina once you are steady.
Surgery for the area is generally carried out at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington supports recovery, and we treat clients at home.
High Street runs parallel to the shore, with shops and older cottages. Its pavements are mostly level, making it suitable for early outdoor walking.
Preston, inland, has the ruined Preston Tower and a walled garden with a doocot. The grounds are a calm place for short walks on firm paths.
Cockenzie and Port Seton lie to the east, with a working harbour and a long promenade. The seafront is flat and popular with walkers of every age.
Wallyford, to the west, has new housing developments with smooth pavements. These are good for clients wanting easy walking routes near home.
Tranent sits on higher ground to the south, so the roads up from Prestonpans climb steadily. That slope is useful for strengthening work later on.

Helping active people recover from sports injuries and safely return to sport and performance.

Rehabilitation of bones, joints, muscles and ligaments following injury, surgery or degenerative change.

Support to improve breathing, endurance and recovery for respiratory and cardiac conditions.
