Physiotherapy Services in Swanscombe
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Swanscombe premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Swanscombe is a town in north-west Kent, on the south bank of the Thames between Dartford and Gravesend. Fragments of a skull found in a gravel pit here, known as Swanscombe Man, are among the oldest human remains discovered in Britain.
The find site is now Swanscombe Heritage Park, with grass, trees and information boards. The town grew around chalk quarrying and cement making, and the old quarries have shaped the landscape between Swanscombe, Greenhithe and Ebbsfleet.
Bluewater shopping centre sits in a former chalk quarry nearby, and Ebbsfleet Garden City is bringing new homes and parks to the area. Riverside paths at Greenhithe follow the Thames with views towards Essex.
Homes include Victorian terraces near the High Street, post-war council estates, bungalows and newer housing in Ebbsfleet and Knockhall. Hills and steps between streets are common because of the old quarry landscape.
Swanscombe sits within NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board. Local patients are usually treated at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, and we continue their rehabilitation privately once they are home.
Swanscombe station is on the North Kent line, and Ebbsfleet International offers fast services to London. Buses run to Dartford, Gravesend and Bluewater. Goals often include shopping at Bluewater or walking by the river.
Bluewater is level and indoors, with plenty of seating, which makes it a useful place for longer walking practice in bad weather.
The riverside promenade at Greenhithe is flat and open, a good next step for people building stamina after a hip or knee replacement.

Specialist care for women through pregnancy, after birth and beyond.

Reducing the risk of falls and improving safe, confident movement at home and in the community.

Assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor to support bladder, bowel and core function.
