We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Wickham is a large village in the Winchester district of Hampshire, set on the River Meon north of Fareham. It received a market charter in 1269.
Its centre is The Square, one of the largest medieval market squares in England. Georgian and older houses line all four sides.
The Square is wide and fairly level, though it is crossed by roads and parked cars. It gives useful practice in walking with care around traffic.
Chesapeake Mill, beside the river, was built in 1820 using timbers from the American warship USS Chesapeake, captured in 1813. It now houses shops and a café.
The Meon Valley Trail follows the old railway line north from Wickham. Its surface is firm and mostly flat, ideal for building walking stamina.
Planned operations for this area often take place at Portsmouth's Queen Alexandra Hospital or Southampton General. Our team continues your care at home.
Bridge Street runs down from The Square to the river crossing. It slopes gently and has narrow pavements in places.
Many homes in the old village are period cottages with steep stairs. Newer houses on the edges have more room for exercise.
Knowle, to the south, was built on the site of a former hospital and is now a residential village. Funtley lies further south towards Fareham.
Shedfield and Soberton are rural villages north-west of the square. Mislingford and Boarhunt are small hamlets among the fields.
Many clients here enjoy walking in the Meon valley. We build strength and balance to help them return to it safely.
