Physiotherapy Services in Wigtown
We run the service from Harrow in north-west London; there is no Wigtown premises to walk into. Sessions take place in your own home, and the clinician assigned to you may be travelling in from elsewhere. We can only confirm a visit once we know your full postcode and which therapists are free when you get in touch.
Wigtown is a small town in the Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, overlooking Wigtown Bay. In 1998 it was named Scotland's National Book Town.
The town now has many bookshops, including one of the largest second-hand bookshops in Scotland. Browsing them is a gentle indoor activity for clients.
The Wigtown Book Festival, held each autumn, brings writers and readers from across Britain. Getting back to a festival event is a goal for many locals.
The County Buildings, with their tall clock tower, stand at the end of the broad main square. The square itself has gardens and wide pavements.
In 1685 two women, known as the Wigtown Martyrs, were drowned on the shore for their religious beliefs. A stake on the salt marsh marks the spot.
Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary provides most surgery for this area, with some care at the Newton Stewart community hospital. Our team continues your rehabilitation at home.
A boardwalk leads out across the marsh towards the Martyrs' Stake. It is level and gives wide views over the bay.
Bladnoch, just south, is home to one of Scotland's most southerly whisky distilleries. It lies beside the River Bladnoch.
Many homes are stone terraces with steep stairs, along with farmhouses outside the town. We adapt exercises to each home.
Baldoon and Braehead are small communities nearby. Kirkinner lies to the south, while Kirkcowan is inland to the west.
Newton Stewart, to the north, is the nearest larger town. Many clients travel there for shopping, and we work towards that goal.

Expert assessment and treatment of muscle, joint, bone and soft tissue (MSK) conditions at home.
